The Lottery Winners Pack The House!!

So, just how good are The Lottery Winners? You've probably read the hype and heard the rumours?! You should already know that these Leigh lads and lasses won the grand final of Live & Unsigned at London's O2 Arena back in July?! But.....just how good are they???

Last night, the Mower gig room filled up in no time. So, an overspill crowd soon formed and filled the games room....and then onto the car park where about 40+ folk watched the gig through the back door!!

The Mower rocked like never before! Virtually all beers sold out as around 200 rock fans in various vantage points were treated to the usual excellent mix of rock covers and original favourites. All in all, an awesome night!

So, how good are they......well, I'll tell you, The Lottery Winners are the dog's bollocks!

Last Big W Gig In Leigh!!

What a privilege to watch Big W play their final Leigh gig last night. It's certainly their tightest performance that I've watched. The lads were awesome. A big thank you to them for choosing the Mower as the venue to bow out on Leigh. Wishing them all the very best for the future in which ever direction life takes them! Cheers, guys!

Farewell To Big W - Last Leigh Gig!!!

After six years of playing together, sadly Big W have decided to call it a day. Got to say that I will miss them big style! If there is any good news, it's that the lads have chosen The Standard Mower as the venue for their final gig in Leigh. I'm really honoured and would ask all you rockers out there to come down to the Mower on Saturday 17th July 2010 to give them the best send off possible. Let's have the place packed to the rafters as a big thank you to four guys who have given so much to the local rock scene. They deserve nothing less!!! Hope to see you there!!

The Lottery Winners Are Top Dogs.....And That's Official!!!

Well, they've gone and done it!!! Mower favourites The Lottery Winners have won the 2010 grand final of Live & Unsigned at London's O2 Arena. Having beaten hundreds of other bands from multiple musical genres and from all over the UK, this massive achievement by the band cannot be overstated. If you want to know what all the fuss is about, get yourself down to the Mower for their 'homecoming' gig on Saturday 21st August 2010. Well done, guys and gals, awesome!!!

Best Of Luck To The Lottery Winners

Just a reminder to fans of the Lottery Winners that it's today that the band play the Live & Unsigned final at the O2 in London. This lot are awesome. Great characters both on and off stage! More attitude than you can shake a stick at! Good luck from us all at the Mower. Really looking forward to seeing you play at the Mower on Saturday 21st August 2010 hopefully as Live & Unsigned winners!

Ten New Gigs Added!!!

Another TEN great gigs added today!! Rock 'til you drop every weekend at The Mower! Also, look out for the New Years Eve 'Rock Night With Live Band'....there may be an admission charge (to be announced with band details closer to the time) but I can promise you a New Years party that you'll never forget!

Leigh's Rocking This Weekend!!!

Friday night (21/05/10), get yourself down to Leigh Miners on Twist Lane, Leigh. Three class rock acts from 7.30pm, starting with 'up and coming' young band, Wulf-Bane, followed by 'Live & Unsigned' finalists, The Lottery Winners, with the mighty Big W headlining. Tickets @ £5 available on the door.

Meanwhile, on Saturday night (22/05/10), come and join us at The Mower to get a second helping of Wulf-Bane. Trust me, you can't get enough of these guys!! Free admission, great beer and a top night out guaranteed! 

The Lottery Winners Reach The 'Live and Unsigned' Grand Final @ The O2 In London!!!

Standard Mower favourites, The Lottery Winners, are through to the grand final of 'Live and Unsigned', the UK’s largest music competition for unsigned artists. They will now perform live at the O2 on Saturday 10th. July 2010!! Tickets are £16 & £20. The Lottery Winners also embark on their first national tour in July, playing gigs and festivals up and down the country. They are now looking for a support band to join them on tour. You can catch them at the LeighLife Rock Concert at Leigh Miners Welfare Club on Friday 21st. May 2010 or here at The Standard Mower on Saturday 21st. August 2010. How cool is that!!!??? This time next year, YOU could be saying.... "yeah I saw them in Leigh before they were famous"!!

LeighLife Rock Concert In May 2010!!

On Friday 21st. May 2010, www.leighlife.com will be hosting a rock concert at Leigh Miners Welfare Club in Leigh. The three bands playing the gig are Standard Mower favourites, Wulf-Bane, The Lottery Winners and Big W. Tickets are available @ £5 from the venue, from the bands themselves or direct from Leigh Life at admin@leighlife.com.

Great New Gigs Booked!

Vera Cruz are just one of a number of top bands booked to play the Mower this year. The current line up has been together since February 2007 and always goes down well with the audience. Lead singer, Waz, is a top class front man who really knows how to rock!

The set list invariably contains a number of rock classics which are always done full justice by this tight outfit.
That Vera Cruz have already got over thirty gigs lined up for the remainder of 2010 bears testament as to just how popular these guys are!!
